Awesome Is On Its Way
Working in art and design for nearly half my life, it has become a third limb for me, in a sense. I see it wherever I go! When I read a menu, I notice the fonts used. When I see work vehicles, I find myself analyzing their logos, and I can’t help but spot my previous projects still being used somewhere, seemingly every direction I turn. I have had a lifelong passion with all forms of art, and it has become a central piece of who I am. Outside of this, nearly all my time is spent with my beautiful family, my wife and daughters, who have me wrapped around their pinkies. Together, we love to travel and explore, with a lengthy checklist of where we plan to go next. There is a constant struggle between deciding if we should go somewhere new – or to Disneyland for the 1,982,145,557th time. My outlook on life is that it is far too short, and we should make the most of each day. Experiences and relationships, whether they are at work or home, are exactly what you make of them, and I strive to strengthen them in everything I do.
And, this wouldn’t be complete without metal music, video games, the word “awesome”, donuts, and then some more metal, more video games, and more donuts because they are awesome.
I am a seasoned design professional, with over 20 years of experience in Sr. Graphic Designer and Art Director roles. Growing and evolving in my career is of the utmost importance to me – thus, I have continued to master new skill sets while staying ahead of current design trends. While Graphic Design and Art Direction are my primary interests, I also am skilled in various forms of Photography, Video Production, and Web Design. My background of working with a wide range of companies and clients, as well as individually or in large teams, has strengthened my ability to adapt and succeed in nearly any environment.
Although I have worked professionally in the field of Graphic Design since 1995, my true experience reaches far beyond even that. As a small child, I knew art was my only true passion I wanted to pursue. In High School, my art teacher had to create a special class for me, after all other art class options had been exhausted. Of course, my love of art progressed into my college classes, and now strengthens with every project I am fortunate enough to work on. Each unique position I have held has introduced me to new applications of art and design – including work in ad agencies, retail, medical, freelance work, contract work, and consulting. I have worked successfully as part of large teams, small teams, and individually.

Responsible for coordinating and producing a variety of graphics products and services for numerous clients big and small, providing graphic design and art direction for Branding and logo designs, Packaging, advertising, newsletters, report covers, annual reports, brochures, exhibit displays, websites, product and lifestyle photo shoots.
Creatively translate marketing team’s objectives into clear and effective approaches. Implement and uphold brand development from conception through completion in all marketing projects. Design, present and develop web design, html email marketing campaigns and print material.
Concepts, designs, develops, and executes multimedia marketing and image campaigns to effectively create, extend, and communicate the ClearDATA brand, improve public awareness, and promote programs both internally and externally.
Worked individually with clients to develop a creative plan for photographs and albums. Photographed weddings, edited and retouched images and created album layout designs and thank-you card designs. Conception and design of company logos, marketing materials, website and blog, and branding. Maintained strong vendor, client and industry relationships to create a network of referrals and professional support. Submitted work and articles for publication in various magazines, blogs and websites. Coordinated, designed and managed trade show events. Implemented creative strategies for marketing and advertisements.
Strategized with Marketing and Creative departments to develop Marketing and Advertising campaigns. Designed and created product packaging, magazine advertisements, logos, apparel, brochures, catalogs, and print collateral for all companies under Rockford Corporation. Directed and photographed multiple show vehicles for various magazine publications and print materials. Collaborated "press checks" with vendors for print and photography materials to ensure quality. Created processes to streamline projects while meeting deadlines and working within set budgets. Photographed product and events to build Rockford’s current marketing approach and branding.
Created and designed logos/branding and brochure layouts for various clients contracted through Canyon Communications. Designed and produced multiple magazine covers and advertisements. Operated as part of a team of designers to assist in developing creative approaches to successfully market both Canyon Communications and their clientele. Worked with clientele to develop a vision for their advertisement campaign.
Assisted a broad range of RSVP’s clientele to conceptualize an advertising campaign in regard to the design of their advertisements for production into direct mail, magazines, billboards and web sites on both a national level and internationally. Acted as liaison to communicate client’s needs and RSVP’s artistic concepts between sales staff and the client. Managed projects among team of Designers to ensure proper branding, concepts and deadlines were met. Conducted Photo Shoots, developed logos, illustrations and various print materials.
Started employment as Graphic Designer in 1995 and was promoted to Creative Project Manager in 1997. Created and designed logos and layouts of monument and/or neon signage for numerous companies throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Worked on scale models of signage and conducted on-site research to develop concepts. Coordinated progress meetings to ensure key functions of projects were on schedule. Acted as liaison between vendors and clients to communicate creative vision, information and product updates.
